RULES FOR VISITORS

Fans attending the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway are required to comply with all event policies set by the organizers. Security teams are present throughout the venue to help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Prohibited items

For safety and operational reasons, certain items are not allowed inside the Speedway. Anything that could endanger others, interfere with the event, or disrupt the race weekend is strictly forbidden. This also includes merchandise or tickets intended for resale.

While the list below is not exhaustive, it highlights the most commonly restricted items:

  • Aerosol cans (except sunscreen, sunblock, hand sanitizer, and bug spray)
  • Animals or pets (excluding service animals)
  • Firearms of any kind
  • Displays of the Confederate flag
  • Dry ice
  • Fireworks or explosives
  • Foam or hard-sided coolers (any size)
  • Projectiles such as frisbees, balloons, or beach balls
  • Glass or ceramic containers
  • Illegal substances
  • Knives
  • Laser pointers, air horns, or other noisemakers
  • Obscene or inappropriate clothing
  • Seat cushions containing metal parts
  • Selfie sticks
  • Skateboards, bicycles, hoverboards, or roller skates
  • Tripods and monopods (fixed or collapsible)
  • Umbrellas
  • Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Multi-tools with blades
  • Wagons

What you can bring

To keep your visit smooth and stress-free, it’s best to pack light and bring only essentials. A phone, portable charger, and your mobile tickets for each day are usually all you need. Adults should carry valid photo identification, and it’s recommended that children also have ID.

Keeping your belongings minimal helps speed up security checks and gives you more time to enjoy the race-day atmosphere. Please note that Charlotte Motor Speedway is a cashless venue; ensure you have a credit or debit card for all purchases.

The following items are permitted inside the Speedway, subject to seating-level restrictions:

  • Bags and Coolers – Guests in grandstand seating may bring two bags (up to 18" × 18" × 14") and one soft-sided cooler (up to 14" × 14" × 14"). Important: Coolers are not allowed in VIP Suites, 300 level, 500 level and 600 level seating. Hard-sided or foam coolers are not permitted anywhere in the venue.
  • Cameras and Electronics – Cameras, binoculars, scanners, headsets, tablets, and laptops are allowed; all equipment must fit inside a permitted bag.
  • Flags – National flags on pencil-sized wooden sticks are permitted, provided they do not obstruct the view of other fans.
  • Food and Drinks – Factory-sealed, pre-packaged food and beverages are allowed in bags or soft-sided coolers (where permitted); glass containers are strictly prohibited.
  • Personal Items – Clothing, blankets, sunscreen (aerosol/gel/liquid), and strollers are permitted.
  • Seat cushions – Permitted if they contain no metal components.
  • Service animals – Only officially certified service animals are allowed.
